bringing it back to its 100 Year old glory, with a nod to its historical past.
The floor plan was completely reconfigured to suit the needs of the new clinic, as well as divide the floors into two separate suites. The custom cabinetry, stair railings, and trim details we created honoured the past historical beauty of the home while adding form and function to the space. Custom built chevron walls provided some privacy, while the intricate reception area welcomed you in to a large custom built maple table, finished with a luxurious quartz stone top. We incorporated panelled front cabinetry, ogee edges, turned legs, and more traditional finishings in the millwork to warm the space up.
The interior design of the veterinary clinic incorporated some salvaged materials such as original wood barn doors and light fixtures, and included many architectural details that spoke to its past. The colour scheme and materials used were classic but with a modern flare, using warm wood tones, custom chevron and hexagon patterns, and large animal motifs.
The final creation delivered a modern chic boutique combined with the warmth and charm of a historical home.
Neighbourhood Veterinary Hospital is located in an old heritage home in the west end of Kamloops. The 100 year old house was converted to office space in a 1970’s renovation, but the new owners wanted to bring it back to its original historical glory.
